I want to give my opinion about Janina San Miguel, and DJ Montano/Brian Gorrell and the Gucci Gang controversy.
First let’s start with Bb. Pilipinas - World 2008 winner, Janina San Miguel. All of you must have heard about her already. In all honesty, when I first saw her video at YouTube, I laughed like crazy. I don’t really have a problem with the way she spoke since she could learn how to speak proper English anyway. What bothered me was her reasoning. She joined a beauty pageant; it’s a given and expected that she’ll have to answer a question sooner or later. They simply asked her what role her family played for her as a candidate of Bb. Pilipinas. It wasn’t even brain-bending. Saying that she’s only 17 years old was completely useless and unnecessary. She should have prepared more. Good luck to her when she competes for Miss World.
Okay, about the DJ Montano/Brian Gorrell and the Gucci Gang controversy. I’m really surprised and shocked by this. Why? Because I know DJ Montano personally at a professional level; he was one of my professors last school year 2006-2007 at Enderun. He was my favorite professor and I’m so shocked by all these revelations about him. It’s unbelievable since he seemed so professional and different inside the classroom. I was really attentive in his class and never missed a meeting. What happened? I’m neither Team DJ nor Team Brian, but I hope they find a mutual ground. :sweat:

nagtataka ako baket si Janina ung nanalo samantalang mali-mali ung grammar niya nung pagsagot dun sa q&a portion. Onga may beauty pero hello? BRAINS nasan ka ahehehe.. goodluck nalang sa kanya sa Miss world?

ive been hooked on Brian’s blog lately. i dont know any of them personally pero yung iba lagi kong naririnig sa tv or nababasa sa magaazines and i would never have expected any of these from them. shocking talaga. the cocaine addiction. lalo na si celine lopez.
about janina, wala nakong masabi. nasabi na ng iba ang dapat sabihin sa dinamidami ng critics nya hehe i just hope she does a better (waaaaay better) job sa Ms. World. She should prove her detractors wrong. Let’s just wait and see.

maybe because they just based it on the physical appearance since she is good-looking? hehe. `feel so sorry for her because of what had happened. what more kung sa miss world na? hope makapag-prepare pa siya before it gets worse.

I think kaya nila ginawang winner si Janina, kasi you can see her determination and her confidence kahit na pinagtatawanan na siya ng tao. Pero, nakakatawa talaga nung first time kong napanood yung video. Haha.
Anyways, about sa other news, I don’t think I’ve heard of that. I’ll find out later kung ano ba yang issue na yan.

i think that she shouldn’t win not because of her grammar but because of her answer. yes, she’s simply asked the role of her family and her answered a lot of things that ARE not connected to what’s asked. kamusta naman yun? tapos when the judges were asked kung bakit sya pinapanalo, they defended themselves with the “she’s the best in long gown and swim suit kasi” bullshit! kamusta naman yun di ba? maybe she really looked that good in those fabulous attires pero that’s NOT ENOUGH to declare her as one of the “pambato” of this nation.
i can’t believe that even the most prestigious pageant here lost its credibility.

Alam ko na yung kay Janina and I agree with you. Nakakatawa nga yung pronunciation nya but still HINDI NYA SINAGOT ANG TANONG. damn! Sana this time maging ready na sya.. I don’t have any problem kung hindi sya magling mag-english …
