I started blogging way back in 2002. That was when Hannah showed me her blog. I asked her how she made it and she introduced me to Blogger. I created an account but I wasn’t really satisfied with Blogger’s themes, and I couldn’t do anything about it because I didn’t know anything about HTML. Then my friend Kim, who knew how to use HTML, offered to edit it for me. I was so happy with what she did that I started to get addicted to blogging. I stayed with Blogger for quite some time but I also decided to try out other blogging sites. I used DiaryLand for a couple of months, and then I tried LiveJournal. Back then, LiveJournal had an invite only feature. A person who has an account can invite someone and only when invited can that someone sign up for an account. I was lucky enough that Hannah invited me so I got to use LiveJournal. Like Blogger, I also wasn’t satisfied with LiveJournal’s themes, so Nikki came to my rescue. She edited the CSS for me and even made me an icon. I stayed in LiveJournal for years and until now, I’m still using it, though I’ve had 3 different accounts already. I also made a Xanga and Tabulas account that I hardly ever used. I taught myself how to use HTML and CSS because I always wanted to make my own layouts. I read books and online tutorials on the topic. Sometimes, I would get this urge to have my own site, but I couldn’t afford to buy a domain. I would just try creating sites in Geocities because it’s free. With nothing to back me up except for my basic HTML and CSS knowledge, most of my Geocities sites never even moved out of their “under construction” banners. Eventually, I gave up on that and just remained with LiveJournal. On September of 2006, I felt ready to try and get hosted. I applied on several sites, and got several rejections. I also knew nothing about PHP and FTP. One day, just after I lost all hope of getting hosted, Khita accepted my application! I used Starshine as my first site name. Khita taught me how to use FTP and even helped me create my first PHP coded layout. I stayed with her for a couple of months until she moved to a different site. Originally, I was planning on moving with her or moving to Angelic-Pink, but because of school, I didn’t have the time to fix my site. Though I still remained loyal to LiveJournal. After a couple of months, Shai took me as her hostee. I had trouble entering and accessing my site so nothing came out of it. I also started to get too lazy to blog; I was only updating my LiveJournal, like, once in a couple of months. Eventually, I got inspired to blog again so I decided to ask Janelle if she could host me. She accepted and after a couple of weeks, Stellar was born.
